Auction sale contents of County Stores

13 Jul 19

An interesting and almost unique auction is set to take place on Tuesday 23rd July in central Taunton when the entire contents of the former County Stores goes under the hammer.

One of Somerset’s longest established leading firms of Auctioneers Tamlyns of Bridgwater are appointed to handle the sale which is being conducted on site with most of the lots “in situ”.

Ian Walker, Senior Auctioneer with Tamlyns quoted that

“He was delighted that Tamlyns had been chosen to handle this interesting and varied genuine complete dispersal of equipment including everything from shop fittings to extensive amounts of catering goods”

Not only is the complete restaurant servery induced but also restaurant furnishings as well as further catering kitchen equipment previously unseen by the general public with ranges of fridge and freezers together with 2 walk-in cold rooms or chillers.

The vast range of equipment on offer in this genuine clearance sale is spread throughout the 12,000 square feet of floor space in the buildings including extensive storage racking and other items in the rear warehouse area, whilst at the front not only are the refrigerated self-service display units, the open shop shelving units being offered but also the entire bakery section with baker’s ovens.

This is a sale that has something for everyone in retail or catering businesses and the day brings to close the long history of County Stores in Taunton before its change into a motoring museum for which planning permission has already been approved.
